Default Progressive Music Lovers

I saw there was a Jazz Thread so I thought it woulb be a good idea to have a progressive one.

Let's share our taste for the math (and mad) music!!

I like prog and metal prog,

some bands i like:

King Crimson
Liquid Tension Experiment
The mars volta (although i dont know if they are "proggresive")
Bozzio Levin Stevens

What about you?

They have a not so easy-istening sound, but their music is awesome, their jams are genius like, and live they take you to a place far away....

they can get you high without any weird substances.

I totally agree... not a lot of people appreciate their sound but it can grow on some of them. (I brainwashed my boo and several other friends)

Tool / A Perfect Circle (I love Maynard...)

I also love Tool ... they've a rather unique sound, and their methrics are really really complicated, not easy to follow the beat.

My favourite album from them is "lateralus", it is just perfect...

yes

that's the only album of there's babbo's been able to get his hands on...so broke and no access to p2p T.T

it kicks so much ***

what babbo doesn't get if how some people hate tool but then go on all about how apc is sooooo much better (in babbo's opinoin they're close to be as good) really annoys babbo....they sounds pretty simliar too <_<

I think neither Tool or Perfect Circle are better, they¡re just different.

Perhaps Perfect Circle is quite more commercial, more easy-listening, but songs like "3 Libras" are **** good.

By the way, i heard a rumor that Perfect Circle was given more priority than Tool, is Tool fading away or something?

Ditto...

I love that Album... any track from Mer De Norms is something I need daily. XD.... 13th Step was decent too... but I prefered the previous album.

That's what I heard too... I hope they don't... ah... Parabola....~~~

I've just heard a song (which is a full album) which has some good "exoctic" parts...

Green Carnation - Light of day, day of darkness.

It gets kinda dark and creepy near minute 40 i think...

(it is 1 hour long)

Really good band. Think I might go listen to there CD.

Some other good bands:

Pain of Salvation: The Perfect Element is a good album to start with.

Opeth: If you don't mind death vocals and growls, they also do sing normally.
