One fateful morning, conducting a mission in the service of the Gotei-13, he had been fatally wounded and left to waste. However, a man by the name of Yamanuji Tenpen, the founder of the Gakushiotomi Onmyoudou Ryuu, had found him, taking him into his care and study. Although Masamune had recovered, the fatal attack did not leave him without admonishment.

Having to live without assumed guidance he found himself to disappear wandering through the vast reaches of Soul Society until one day, centuries later, he appeared before the doorstep of the Gotei, bearing the name of Shimizu Takuya.

Shikai

~ Name :: Uzuki
~ Japanese :: 「雨月」
~ Meaning :: “Raining Moon”
~ Release Command ::

「月上げて
秋羽の中に。
露で泣く。」

「 Tsuki agete
Shuuha no naka ni.
Tsuyu de naku。」

“The Moon rises
in an autumn of feathers.
It cries with dewdrops.”

Form Change
In Shikai form, Uzuki retains its structure as a tachi, however, what it gains is subtle in nature. Uzuki gains a new hamon, the hitatsura, giving all those who see it an impression of a misty rain. The blade itself is always clean; stains and such do not last too long upon its steel.

Throughout the entire duration of the Shikai form, Uzuki naturally and infinitely perspires with slow-forming raindrops all along the course of its blade. In this way, the blade is always moist, and from this, it is granted with two inherent properties.

First is in its moisture, namely the raindrops that crop up all along the blade. The raindrops act to facilitate the cutting ability of Uzuki, and in this way, all cuts made by its blade pass through cleaner, and the recoil associated with such cuts are reduced.

Though an odachi is initially a tool of ruin, through Takuya’s driving desire to help those in dire need, the raindrops gain an inherent property which enables them to heal wounds at a substantial rate. The raindrops, however, must be applied manually and directly to a wound in order to work, either by sliding a hand across the blade to accumulate the raindrops or to dab an article of cloth over the blade to absorb them. This healing property will only work through Takuya’s will, hence the raindrops will not heal his opponents.

Ability
~ Name :: Tomozuki
~ Japanese :: 「ともずき」
~ Meaning :: “Swirling Moon"

A powerful attack that aims to cut the enemy down with forthright strength and indelible resolve. By harnessing the spirit of the moon into Uzuki, Masamune gains the ability to cut the enemy at long distances. This skill involves either cutting in a crescent arch or a full circle, either of which influences the shape and scope of the attack.

By cutting in a crescent arch, Masamune may release compressed Reiryoku within the blade to extend the cutting path by several meters. An icy wave, whose temperature borders around absolute zero, bullets from the natural arch of the moving odachi and spreads out in a pie-shaped path. Objects that contact this wave are not only cut down by its sheer force, but are also almost instantly frozen at whatever region it is cut at. Targets that have lower Spiritual Pressure than Masamune’s run the risk of being utterly cut through by the wave. If Masamune executes this skill with a full circle stroke, the ice wave expands outward in a perfect disk with the same effects as the crescent wave. However, with the full circle method, Masamune may continuously stroke Uzuki in the like fashion, sending out a constant spiral of Tomozuki waves into the surroundings.

All immediate spiritual energies that physically touch the wave are subject to being nullified by its harrowing temperature. This property of the waves upholds itself as long as the antagonistic spiritual energy has a magnitude equal to or less than 150% of Masamune’s Spiritual Pressure. Each time this skill is executed, the ambient temperature drops by 10-15° F.

The maximum range for either of the waves may be calculated by dividing Masamune’s Connection by 100 and rounding up the result to the nearest whole number in meters. The cutting power and temperature of the wave retains its full integrity throughout the longevity of its maximum range.

Note: Absolute zero is -459° F, -273° C, and 0° K.

[I]Seigyoku せいぎょく

Received upon the death of a division member, Hasegawa Ayako, it is a stainless steel chain lined with sterling silver. Each tiny chain is interlinked with one another holding onto a clear aqua blue sapphire. Within the sapphire lies an unidentified diamond crystal in the shape of a crescent moon. Under the presence of night it glows a vibrant sky blue color and provides an indulging calm.

The origin of the crystal and chain is from a Munashiikonjou, a village upon the eastern edge of Soul Society, an area forbidden and toxic to those with spiritual signatures. The sapphire which hangs off the chain is said to be created from a single teardrop of the moon goddess and spoken to have been held by all the masters of Myousa Tsuki no Genjin Ryuu.

Given its composition, the crystal possesses two inherent abilities. The first allows it to filter Reiatsu through the embedded crystal within the sapphire structure. The second is raising the Reiatsu and Zanjutsu of its holder by 5 per 75 points in connection.

Myousa Tsuki no Genjin Ryuu
Shining Deception, Crescent Blade of Moon Style

Overview & History
An ancient fighting style refined with its origins dating far back into the recesses of time. Myousa Tsuki no Genjin Ryuu is a sword art which travels along the premise of Kenjutsu, Iaijutsu, Physics and Spiritual Energy. It employs the use of natural motions enhancing them with distinct control and specific actions which sharpens its accuracy and provides the practitioner with a better insight, ambivalence and judgment when battling against his enemy.

The fundamentals of Myousa Tsuki no Genjin Ryuu goes back to the primary philosophies of Kenjutsu written by Miyamoto Musashi, Go Rin No Sho or the Book of Five Rings. The contents of the book speak about stratagem and military science which is used as a basic foundation for the practitioner to predict and create actions steps ahead of his opponent allowing him to be flexible, swift and more likely to defeat the enemy in any given situation.

Yamanuji Tenpen is the founder of the style. Having lived millenniums ago, he set out to create a worthy style at the renaissance of sword art. As he child he took the concepts of life depicted in the workings of Musashi and Sun-Tzu. The Art of War and The Book of Five Rings. This knowledge facilitated in his quest to embrace the various Ways of this world and allowed him to create this sword art.

Myousa Tsuki no Genjin Ryuu has been through a strange transference through the ages, there have been times where there had been no recorded history of this style but only to appear decades later. Its Legend is that it is a treasure of the Moon Goddess and had been passed down to inspire those who humble her presence at night.

Requirements
In order for this sword style to be practiced and utilize, the practitioner must retain at least 80% of their connection being the sum of Base Spiritual Pressure, Zanjutsu and Hohou. The primary requirement to the mastery of this sword style is a Connection of 10,000 and the Secondary Requirements involves the sum of the Base Spirtual Pressure, Zanjutsu and Hohou to be at least 90% of the Connection.

Special Conditions
The movements and attacks of the practitioner become an indistinct and harder to predict and read. The flexibility of this style and its sinuous chains enables the practitioner to be quick in reacting to enemy attacks.

Additionally, Masamune has gained an insight which allows him to read the movements of the opponent and devise a strategy ahead of time.

Fundamental Stances

Chuudan no Kamae
Chudan no kamae is fundamental kamae serving as a root for all others due to its flexibility and adaptive capabilities. It is a stance which serves to produce a strong offense and a practically impenetrable defense.

Jodan no Kamae
Jodan no Kamae stance in which one carries an aggressive mindset both spiritually and physically; the practitioner subsequently increases in strength as their body will be in such a manner to maximize the overall effectiveness of each and every technique.

Ten no Kamae
A stance in which one carries an aggressive mindset both spiritually and physically; the practitioner becomes subsequently stronger in this stance as they attack in spirit as well with force; techniques under Ten no Kamae carry a more physical and skill oriented context rather than a spiritual one.

Gedan no Kamae
Gendan no Kamae is essentially built as a defensive-offensive posture. It enables the practitioner to be able to deflect an opponents attack to further create striking opportunities. Since the basis of this stance is defense oriented it is able to lightly disguise the intent of the user however essentially falls back to defensive maneuvers.

Waki Gamae
Waki Gamae unlike Gedan, is one which focuses strongly on the aspect of concealment, both of the physical and spiritual context. Generally it indicates hidden preciousness which allows the practitioner under it to stammer their reiatsu to low or non-existent emissions.

Hassou no Kamae
Hassou no Kamae is an aggressive stance in which the practitioner stands mighty like a tree before a typhoon. They are able to observe the opponent in an ascended manner. Techniques executed under this are naturally quick in speed due to the nature of this stance and the positioning of the katana.

Techniques

次元屈折
[ Jigen Kussetsu ]
Dimensional Refraction

Jigen Kussetsu is a general technique of Tsuki no Genjin Ryuu. Through extensive practice, the practitioner attains sheen of moonlight emanating in darkness from the blade which allows the sword to produce multiple instances, and thus able to produce multiple strikes at any instant. If the practitioner chooses to execute a specialized technique under this style more than once, they will appear instantaneous unless the enemy’s Zanjutsu is greater than 75% of Masamune’s, unless otherwise specified. The maximum number of instantaneous strikes is limited to three.

きれめ ゆみなり
[ Kireme Yuminari ]
Crescent Rift

Similar to Kussetsu, Kireme is a general technique of the style. Through countless years of extensive training, the practitioner has attained a state where by his katana/tachi is able to enter extreme acceleration upon the drawing of the sword. Kireme is an Iaijutsu technique which allows the practitioner to draw, cut, and resheath at the same instance. The motion will appear instantaneous unless the enemy's Zanjutsu is greater than Masamune's, unless otherwise specified.

過現未, 波浪 小波
[ Ka Gen Hitsuji, Harou Konami ]
Three Temporal States of Existence, Surging Wave

Harou is a technique where at activation, a fine film of compressed Reiryoku forms over the surface of the blade. Upon execution the compressed Reiryoku deviates from the sword creating two crescent arcs of Reiryoku, excluding the sword itself. Upon impact with the target, the two paths of Reiryoku burst, releasing a powerful vacuum which drives the opponent forward. The usage of spiritual energy is very minimal. A sequence can be continued whereby multiple cuts and streams of Reiryoku are executed creating an illusion of swords and motion.

過現未, 石火小波
[ Ka Gen Hitsuji, Sekka Konami ]
Three Temporal States of Existence, Flash Wave

Sekka is a technique that follows Harou where the remainder of the Reiryoku concentrates itself into a highly potent form at the tip of the blade. By this, Sekka will initiate a swift cut either from above or at the enemy’s upper body (shoulders and above). Along the entire path of this technique, a similar effect is employed where the vacuum instead accelerates the sword bringing it to a near Shunpo-level velocity. Upon impact, the burst of compressed Reiryoku create a torrent of air which pushes the opponent back.

過現未, きゅうきょう小波
[ Ka Gen Hitsuji, Kyuukyou Konami ]
Three Temporal States of Existence, Final Wave

Kyuukyou is the final motion in the chain of Hitsuji and can only be executed under the pretense of Sekka. It is striking/thrusting motion in which Reiryoku instantaneously gathers at the tip of the kissaki. The Reiryoku glows brightly encompassing the surroundings and taking a form similar to that of tsuanmi. At the same moment, the Reiryoku coats the blade while forming a dozen other illusionary swords which thrust forward at the opponent simutaneously.

As the katana/tachi makes contact with the enemy the Reiryoku is vaccumed into the kissaki creating a field of high spirtual pressure enabling Masamune to pierce with great effectiveness. The usage of Reiatsu is minimal but slightly higher than Sekka and Harou.

粋の実
[ Mi no Sui ]
Essence of Purity

Sui is a master form of counter technique where several levels of Reiryoku are compressed over the sword. Upon contact, the sword becomes sharpened by multiple folds, and neutralizes all spiritual energies. Within the duration of Sui, the Reiryoku stretched along the entire length gradually edges to the point of intersection, thus only the set amount of Reiatsu expended at the beginning is used throughout. Additionally, if the opponent’s Zanjutsu is less than or equal to 150% of Masamune’s then it will cut through the object.

Note: “With PC Permission Only”

不可視光線
[ Fukashi Kousen ]
Invisible Ray

A death strike. It is usually used as the concluding strike of a combination. Upon execution of Fukashi Kousen, acceleration of the blade increases the velocity of the blade. Reiryoku is emitted wrapping around the sword causing it to vanish.

燕返
[ Tsubame Gaeshi]
Swallow’s Return

Tsubame Gaeshi is a sword technique where the spirit of the warrior is maximized in the entire motion. The technique comprises of three strikes which exhibits the tail of a swallow’s flight. The sword glides through the air at a high velocity from above, a vertical strike. At an almost instantaneous time, the sword strike through the right with another vertical slash, and closes with a horizontal slash. It is a technique with a high degree of precision and accuracy where by if the enemy is caught in any of the strikes will be dealt a fatal wound. The sequences of Tsubame Gaeshi will be seen as a combination of three separate but close strikes only if the Zanjutsu of the opponent is equal or greater than 125% of Masamune’s.

強大斉射撃
[ Kyoudai Isseishageki ]
Mighty Fusillade

Isseishageki is an execution of two downward cuts and one upward along the same path. It is a lethal technique which uses the effect of Sunpou Kussetsu. Upon execution, the concentration and accuracy used in this technique causes the cutting power of the two downward strikes to merge to act as one.

割く流
[ Sakuryuu ]
Tearing Crescent

Upon execution Sakuryuu, Reiryoku swirls around the circumference of the sword into a highly potent form forming a vacuum effect. The vacuum travels in the circumference of the sword creating an area of low pressure. Upon impact, the Reiryoku bursts causing a shockwave. The grasp on the air pressure is also released creating a powerful bludgeoning force around the impact area around the sword.
