Hehe. I dont know. Im in love with this anime. I discovered it on my own. I watched it on my own. I told all of my friends at college about it, and they loved it too. The plot is definately the best part about it. The "ending" was... almost enough to make me cry. Actually, there were many points in this series that I could have cried.

Im really really looking forward to the movie. It's so far away though... :(

I don't see any signs of this anime being overrated. Now Naruto is ultimately overrated. Many fans of the FMA anime like it because it has many things other animes don't and the story keeps you in suspence always. The characters and their bonds are deep. This probably much to the credit of the original manga, which I haven't read and won't know how good that is compared to the anime. As far as anime alone, it is very original and you can get attached to the characters very easily.

But personally, even tho FMA is a great anime, for some reason it's missing a addictive factor that keeps me shaking in excitement when i watch it and want to kill myself if i don't see the next episode =]

Its not the best thing since slice bread but I will tell you this is one of the "BEST ANIMES I HAVE EVER SEEN". Its better than Naruto for sure. I highly recommend this Anime to a lot of people I have seen all episode and I am looking forward to the movie. ;)
By the way I heard that Steven Spielberg will be making a live action adaptation movie of Fullmetal Alchemist. Now that I cannot miss!!

eh i'm kinda wary of live action movies based on anime... even if it is Steven Spielberg =\

but yes this was one of the better animes in my collection, i'd recommend it to anyone as well. can't wait for the movie to come out next year!

I've not seen many movies based on animes like that. I'd be kinda curious to see how its done. Although... I know it couldnt compare to anime. It's just be something different.

FMA is one of the best animes ever, hands down. the ending was pretty neat. looking forward to the movie. spielberg making a live-action, no way, man, i doubt he can do all those effects. and the story s too long for 2 hours.

Babbo thinks an FMA live action would be more realistic than most other animes if they were turned into a live action......Like in DBZ,If they made that How would they maka live action movie with that Hair? tha anime looks stupid enough but a live action movie with that would be retarded.................

no, Babbo is pretty sure the 2005 movie will be anime, we were talking about how someone here heard a rumor that Steven SPielburg was gonna do a live action FMA, though I really doubt it......

Oh...thank the gods, I havent heard of a good live action anime movie ever, there are just fundimental parts of anime that you just cant replicate in a movie...

Babbo
10-21-2004, 05:09 PM
Yeah, but FMA could work....it's just they'd have to make sure they represent characters correctly....unlike the live action DBZ babo has been hearing of for the last few years.....Jackie chan and Jet li?!?!?!???? Goku and Vegeta don't look asian at all!!!!

I think this anime is one of the best. The suspense that they creat in most of the episodes is astounding. The action scenes were fantastic. And the character development is one of it's best traits in this series.

With the ending that they left us with makes me want to see the movie even more. If they ended the series there and decided not to make a movie, I think that it would have been one of the worst endings ever. From what I see, I think that the movie will end the series where it should end. And I agree with Cloud28, I wish that the series would have ran longer too.

Also, I think that ep. 25 is the saddiest ep. in the series. I'm a huge Maes Hughes fan. That's all I'm going to say.

By the way I heard that Steven Spielberg will be making a live action adaptation movie of Fullmetal Alchemist. Now that I cannot miss!!
Where did you here this, was it from a reliable source?

Teferi, the movie is actually rather old news. If you've seen the ending to the Fullmetal Alchemist anime, then I'm sure you can get an idea of what it will be about. The movie is going to pick up where the anime left off and will be a conclusion to the series, tying up all the loose ends and such.

It's going to come out sometime in the summer of 2005 in Japan, I believe. Here is the official website http://www.shochiku.co.jp/hagaren/

Yes, the ending was good. It wasn't rush. I twas quite...funny...at the end. How we get to see Alphonse in his real body. Edward is so much cuter.

The manga is always better than the anime.

Well I'm gonna start this out by saying.... I love this Anime ^_^ lol The Best thing about it and what is so unique is that in other animes your sitting there after a few episodes saying "hmmm I wonder what happened to that person" and in FMA your like "Hmmmm Oh Yeah This Person I remember them from the second Ep. This is awesome!" I like how it goes back to the other characters in Earlier episodes.

Now about the Dub Funimation did. Well me being Anti-Funimation Anything i say about them won't be too good. First of all they made Ed sound like Goku. That was their first mistake. Their second was Al sounds like hes 6. Isn't he supposed to be like 13 or 12? I don't understand why Funimation can't just have the same people who did the Japanese voices do the English voices. It wouldn't be that hard.

And for my final Topic, I never read the Manga of an Anime. I always like watching Anime's than Reading Manga. Manga doesn't capture the feeling for me. But I would like to read the Mangas of the Anime's i watch after their Finished. Ok now Im done with my super long reply x_x

The manga and anime are TOTALLY DIFFERENT for full metal alchemist. In the beginning it's somewhat similar but the story goes into different plots. Some characters are different. Like Scar and Lust. The manga will have a different ending then the anime which I'm looking foward too. I agree with you Fullmetal that the Anime captures the moment and sets the tone. Though sometimes the manga does have a better plot and dosen't have stupid filler eps. I repeat that the manga and anime for FMA are very different and have different plots. I recommend both since they are both well done the FMA manga hasn't yet finished yet so you can continue you reading it. Though the manga is more intense at time but well eventually soaked in with humor which is different from the anime but I like it that way. ^_^ Sometimes the manga is too funny.

I'm sure everyone here has posted how much they love FMA, and I'm no different. Just finished the anime a little while ago, and absolutely adored it (can't wait for the movie). When the manga is licensed, I may start reading it, or I may not. Depends on the translation, etc.

My favorite character is Hughes (as my avatar attests) :)

Is there a trailer or anything for the movie? The last episode of FMA really ended alot of things for future progression, unless they want to somehow retrieve Ed from England so i was a little curious what they had left to put into a movie.
