Never had but I definately wouldn't mind getting into Muay Thai kickboxing. It's just the roughness, the art, & the brutality of the sport that appeals to me. And also the sheer discipline is pretty intriguing.

Combine that with my sporting skills like Rugby or Football & bobs your uncle. I'm a competant street-fighter.

i used to take Judo for a number of years until i quit voluntarily. it interfered with my schoolwork and i constantly had missing hw. i was a green belt when i quit because of our strange testing system. once at green, you can go up if you pass a test AND get 1st or 2nd place in a tournament (either official or between 2 clubs). if i went to the tourneys, i would have been brown by now.

Also wouldn't mind having a stint at Greco-Roman wrestling. ;)

judo is actually pretty cool becaus eits not one of those extremely mainstream sports like karate or taekwondo.

whats cool is that it teaches you how to fight without punches, kicks, or pushing. it's basically grapples, throws, trips, chokes, flips, and sometimes immobilization.

Wow, mad funny!

I am a T'ai Chi practicioner... kind of a martial art, well, half of it. Because you know, it's supposed to help you with Chakra development and manipulation, for both destructive (see: DOA, Genfu) and constructive abilities. Yes, that's right. You can heal yourself with Chakra.

Mad... cool...

besides breathing exercises and devolopment of tendons through very slow movements, what makes T'ai Chi worth doing?

T'ai Chi helps you generate and control chakra, or chi. This energy can then be converted into an external form called 'jing', a vibratory force used for attacking one's opponent. In a fight, this energy can be channeled into an opponent using even the slightest amount of effort. For example, I can develop enough force with my jing to knock the wind out of a person in under a foot of strike distance. So it is essentially designed to cause internal injuries! :) Well, at least the form my sensei teaches, which is the Chin form.

taiji isnt easy at all i learn a slight bit but didnt really extend what i knew. i was made to hold static positions until i got the hang of it before i was allowed to string the static postions together to form sort of a "dance"

i learnt a bit of wushu for a while some time ago...i did enjoy it but i think it would have be better to learn martial arts while at a younger age since bones get harder as we get older(even though i still would want to learn...)....and thus resulting in aches and pains...and all those stretches(ouch)...i liked the parts where i had to do jumps like flying kicks...but the landing entry hurts...(they made us do this on concrete!!!)but of course this is all the beginning until u get use to it....sadly i didn't reach that part...due to too much homework and other extra-curricular activities....i would have liked to learn more and eventually enjoy the fruits of my labor with doing every stance perfectly and even learn using the sword and the fan....man...the fan is suppose to be very hard to do but really nice to watch...

Intresting... If I have some time over a break or something I might try it out. Dunno if any one in arizona teaches that form though, does your teacher have any information about people he trained with our recomends? Anyway if I manage to find time between wushu, school, and soccer; I definately look into it- ki/chi has always caught my attention

Sorry. Sensei does'n't know anyone out there that teaches Chin... it is'n't a real common form, so you know... good luck with it, though, whatever form you learn.
