well its the 4 letter word all teens dread and hate. Tell us about your acne experiences - when you got it, how long did you have it for, when it cleared up and of course, ways to get rid of it...

as for myself, i started getting acne from 8th grade and all through high school. My dad had really bad skin so i guess i got his genes from him. Im graduated high school now and i still have acne scars which pisses me off like a mother... I dunno how to get rid of it, but i heard drinking lotsa water is good. I also heard that sleeping late and staying on the computer too long makes your acne worse but not too sure about that... Share your stories..

lol it'll catch up to you...everyone has had it once or twice in their life...as for tha scars....I've seen ads in some magazines sayign this stuff called Maderma works....you can buy it in tha supermarket for like 20 beans (dollars) so.....yeah.....also I heard toothpaste works to shrink it down....not gel!! (reading from seventeen mag now) and believe it or not....WINDEX uh huh the stuff you clean windows with...ya dab a lil on it...and Triple Antibotic ointment and of course wash your face at least 2 times a day.....ok when I see something else in tha mag...I'll holla

thanks for the tips... However, i don't think they have Maderma over here. As for toothpaste, seriously? Im gonna try that today... So i just put the toothpaste all over the face? Its not like serious scars, just small ones. As for Windex, nope they don't have that here either :(. I'll go along w/ the toothpaste :D

now you dont go and put it ALL over...you dab it on...and as far as the Windex...it's basiclly any window cleaner...I'm sure you have that over there...theres some chemical they use in window cleaner that helps clear it up fast....also I saw some coupons today in the paper....they have some kind of Gel from Clearasel supposed to clear you up in 7 days or your money back....so yeah....ok.....Your welcome....

i am azn but i have gotten acne throughout my high school life. Right now i don't get them anymore but im just stuck with acne scars. I think it has to do w/ your genes and stuff. My dad had some pretty bad acne (so im told) when he was young so i guess i got his genes. My brother on the other hand is acne free and his skin is as clear as a baby's *** -_-;. That's b/c my mom didn't have any acne when he was little. For those that haven't gotten acne in their life, consider yourselves hella lucky. Its like the worst thing to have when your a teenager and it makes you hate everything ><. However, its just a part of life i guess so there's nothing i can do about it. It just pisses me off when people go around saying that a face is dirty b/c of acne. If you think about, people w/ acne probably have the cleanest faces out there since they wash it with such care and do everything to get rid of it. Once again, thnx for the tips Angel Eyes. I'll try it out today and tell you if it works or not... not that that's too interesting to know about. :D

I used to have acne back in middle school but now I do not have acne at all.
For people have acne, I am into skin care and I think Oatmeal bars and Face Cleansers really help. They've helped me a lot along the way. I also think Oxy is a lot better than Stridex.

Ok for 5 weeks now I’ve been using a new acne clearing regime with unbelievable results. I've had bad acne for 11 years, but not any more thanks to the below routine.

Morning:

Moisturise with Dermalogica

Night:

My younger sister ( 1 year younger ) lost her eye sight at 5 years old because some idiots thought it would be funny to spray her face with spray paint. I would never dream of worrying about something as trivial as my skin when people around us suffer from things far worse.

Eh, the only reason I even get the occasional pimple is because I work in a grease filled environment, being a cook and all. Whenever I get time off or when I go on vacation I never really have any problems with it. Also, chocolate makes me break out. Which is why I don't eat it much anymore.

I had very small problems with Acne, I had acne back in 7th grade, but it wasnt much. I've always taken care of my skin. It was caused because chocolate makes me break out, this holiday season I almost had another breakout but I controlled it.

I'm in High school and I no longer have acne. There used to be this kid back in middle high who had his whole face covered in acne, I think he still has it today. One of my best friends goes to the same school that kid does, and he tells me that the kid is one of the biggest losers in that school.

Dermatologists are crap. They always make you be the guinea pig for 10 billion different types of acne medicine to see which one works best for you. Unfortunately, by the time that happens your face is so screwed up, its hopeless. Last 2 medications i got from a dermatologist, it made my skin itchy and dry, and only brought them out not got rid of them. Then my brother suggested Clindamycin, and its worked so im more or less acne free now with a few scars here and there that will hopefully go away over time inshallah.

Use proactive, im sure you saw the ad on TV, im useing it and it works like magic. 40$ package can last you around 3 weeks

Better to prevent than treat. Drink lots of water and avoid greasy, spicy, hot food. Also get plenty of sleep at night. ;)

Your sister's situation was tragic, but another person's dermatological condition is by no means trivial. Each individual has their own right to be concerned about whatever medical condition they have. Acne may cause persistent personal discomfort, affect self-esteem, and/or lead to social ostracization...factors which I would give the utmost of my attention to.

ever tried to wash your gym uniform??? that helps too, yeah at least 1 or 2 showers aday, it helps. acne comes from dirty oily dead skin cells that goes into your hair hole and form infection under your skin

I do beleive fast food should be extremely cheap or REALLY expensive... like $10 per burger (lol) so people dont buy it.... but two dollars (no idea how much in pounds) sounds like just the wrong price!

I personally dont have acne problems, but a close cousin of mine has. She visits the skin centre and follows a strict medicine routine crap. It has helped a lot. Of course, it requires loads of MONEY. Hah. So, see a doctor! :D

A lot of it has to do with genes, aint it? None of my family has ever had acne problems in our entire live so far. I only get an occasional pimple outbreak when I neglect my skin for some time or when I'm super stressed up. Or when its coupled with its-that-time-of-the-month-for-a-girl.

Other than that. I have perfectly clear skin. :p
