Yeah! The 2nd series of SEED(Destiny) has some flashback relating to the 1st serie, but it doesn't matter much. The flashbacks are ususally explained. In other words, you don't need an efficient knowledge of Seed (1st serie) to understand Destiny. You just need some knowledge of the orignal story. You are still able to download 1 - 27 for Seed Destiny*. Plus the fighting part starts pretty fast in Destiny than in Seed(Yay fighting!) ;).
