I've noticed that some of the people here play Magic: The Gathering and after seeing this:

ah the good old days i used to play it but the shop i played it at were a bunch of nerds guys in their 30s yelling how they 0wned you and **** it wasn't fun to play there any more but magic is great best card game out there i stopped around the time that pokemon crap appeared oh god that was awful you could make big bucks with those damn cards though :D

Yes there's always some kind of scary freak at a card/gaming shop. At ours it's this big fat guy who sits in the back painting minitures all day long ( I always wonder how he affords it) I heard he's so bad that the owner of the store gave him a key to the back door!!!!


As for people playing in their 30s, well it's kinda hard to stop for some people. When I graduated from High School, one of my friends kept on trying to stop plyaing, but by the middle of summer vaction he had already been going back to card shop to play.

plus it's way too expensive so eventually i just dropped it ah the good old days used to kick some guys *** with my blue counter deck sweet though i think there never has been a better series than the Urza's has there?

Mirrodin is so much more fun now(althoguh some of the cards are a bit to powerful) being able to play an actual artifact deck as opposed to those crappy wannabe decks back in Urza's Saga and other pre Mirrodin blocks, is awesome

The best thing now though is that Yawgmoths will decks aren't played as much in type one now( first turn win decks really piss me off!!!!).

Eaxactly!!!! However the the deck that's taken over is some kind of counter spell deck, why can't people be more fscking creative!!!

they are hetting more creative there is that worldgorger dragon deck that uses animate dead and world gorger dragon to make it so the dragon removes the animate dead from play (w/ your lands) and then the dragon leaves play so the animate dead comes back into play u tap for mana 'cause your lands came back into play and then the dragon comes back and evrything happens again so u get infinite mana and throw a big fireball that kills ur opponent.

i haven't played MTG since Legion set (i hate it since i love to play blue control so for me that all creature set is crazy).By the way,in my country there are very few people play MTG now and almost my friends are playing game-online instead

there mtgplay which is like apprentice except it shows pictures of the cards and u play over the net(it doesn't go thru the steps of ea. turn) and u can get the newest interctive encyclopedia which does online play for free but u have to download the new sets.

ahh i remember Magic... Those were the days. i would save up my allowance just to go out and buy magic cards.. No one really played it where i lived except for one friend so i'd go over to his house everyday just to play... Kinda sad but it was fun :D

babbo hasn't had much time fo it cause there are hardly any people who play at babbo's school; wanna get at least one type II deck together....just babbo's a cheap ******* and hasn't really been paying attention to the newest set (it's another multi color emphasis one) cause it's so incredibly horrivle as far as draft goes <_<

I think I stopped playing around the time Invasion was coming out (if that was the set about the slivers and whatnot). I remember I had some crazy squirrel generation deck or something like that..

it's driving babbo insane at the prospect of drafting it cause each set emphasizes different golor combinations (guilds like WG RB etc etc) so with each pack introduced it's even harder and harder to play a deck with less than four colors -_-

and sealed deck? IT'S IMPOSSIBLE ...even with just the base set T_T

Yeah there's definitely a lot more emphasis on careful planning of the deck construction when there's more than 2 colors in play...I rarely had a deck with more than 2 colors, it gets too big and too complicated.

babbo plays casual...but since his friends are getting more into type II babbo's thinking of pulling together at least one type II deck <_<

i haven't played MTG since i was in grade school, but it was big in my school a bunch of us used to rush to finish our work in class so we could have a few mins of magic before lunch... ever since i stopped following it the cards, strats and i have lost touch.

good game though.

if you like MTG and risk you should be a big fan of risk:godstorm, it was made by avalon-hill, which is a sub-company of WotC... very card-heavy variant but good.


i remember i used to play white/blue, heavy with counters and timmy's.... used to just chip away until i got all my land out

Hm, i started out when i was in 7th grade, so what deck was 6 years ago. Well, my deck sucks since it takes too long to set up with most my friend using burn decks and slivers decks. Also there is a problem with mana burns. It been awhile since i played though, should start up.

When I played with my friends we allowed each other to use a few 'fake' cards, we basically just printed off a high res image of an expensive card and glue it to a real card and once it was in a plastic sleeve, it looked pretty real. That way we could make the decks we wanted to make without spending 500 dollars -.-

Well, some of my friends made a whole deck out of fake cards, bad fakes ones at that, they were cheap and didn't want to waste color ink. That deck sucks, almost no way to stop him from getting an infinete mana combo and then and use a card to remove all the cards i played.

Well it's fun as long as you use reasonable limitations, which usually wasn't a problem with my friends - otherwise it would just be a bunch of channel ball decks running wild, and we all know how fun that is -.-

eh? proxies are pretty common...heck some tounamens will even let you play with them (particualrly in type I ) it helps level the playing field a bit especially with those pain the *** people who actually have a handful of moxes and stuff (they love to ***** about proxies...like they think they cna't beat someone if they don't have a complete advantage or something) <_<

They're just *****ing cause they actually spent money on the cards and random people are just printing them off for free=P But really, if everyone is allowed to use them then I don't see why they can't take advantage of it as well.

well it depend son wher you play ....officila tournaments won't allow them but some shops allow them in their tournaments normally a limit of around 4 <_<

I used to play. I had this kinda good premade sliver deck and added in some pacify cards...Apart from that, I don't remember anything about the game. Everyone used to play it in middle school, and that's why I got it. It was actually pretty fun...It was what everyone played after the yugioh phase. I lost my decks, though.
