Yes, Gin is evil, but he's the type of character that people love to hate. He reminds me of Hisoka from Hunter x Hunter or Joker from Flame of Recca. Just this oddball character that seems like he does things not just because he's evil but because he hates being bored. Sure, Gin comes off as being evil, but he also just liked to have fun, even if it ends up hurting people.

And I feel that Hitsugaya's vice is on his side. She might go easy on Gin if she faces him later, but she is on her captains side, I think.
