Naruto or Bleach

Well, seeing as there are a whole lot people from NT I thought that it might be an interesting/evil idea to test peoples loyalty to naruto vs. bleach. So, if you really had to choose between Naruto or Bleach, which would be your favorite?

Bleach. I sorta lost intrest in Naruto, I guess I'm jusy not much of a Sasuke fan. But Bleach just keeps geting better and better. I love sword fights and there's are the best, I'm fascinated by every character in the series, especially the villans who I love to hate. Where as with Naruto I'll often think: "Ah! not a Sasuke/Sakura/Choji/Neji episode," and I don't really care about the villians, either.

As for Bleach, the story line makes you want flashbacks, Kubo gives you just enough information to make you want even more, and he doesn't drag out fights with stuff liek "you're my best friend so I have to kill you!!" crap, about the longest fight was probably ichigos fight with kenpachi or maybe Isgida's fight with mayuri, but you wanted to read every single page, unlike quite a few of the fights in naruto.

I'm not sying Naruto is bad or anything, but Bleach so far has been much better, we'll just have to see how they both turn out.

the preoblem with naruto is that there're whole chapters of flashbacks and in bleach the falshbacks are short ( until later at which point they're about something we never heard of-unlike that stupid five million page long flashback of sauske's)

I'm afraid that I would rather have Bleach. I enjoy the story and characters way more than Naruto with the fact that the main character isn't constantly berated with insults in every naruto forum.

I would happily change my mind when the story in Naruto stops revolving around one single annoying, easily manipulated character (and I don't mean Naruto) and get to the point of more important things being covered.

And that's a problem? Coming to a Bleach Forum somehow lessens your ability to discriminate between which you like better? It's all opinion anyway and useless for anything other than discussion of the merits of each series.

That being said, it's all about Bleach. I mean I've read Naruto and I enjoy it, but I love Bleach so much that I will trudge through the Japanese to know what is going on. It takes a lot of effort on my part to read in Japanese, so that's quite a commitment for me. And I don't know if I could tell you why...something caught me from pg.1 and made me fall in love with the series. It's brilliant!

But then why do we fall in love with any of the series we read? I adore Inuyasha, but that is because Rumiko Takahashi has apparently cast some spell on me that makes me love every series she does. Shaman King rocks my world...because of Anna. Yeah, I read for one character. So, it's all pretty arbitrary...

This is treading on dangerous BLEACH grounds, but i went with Naruto. There's so many hard working characters sweating blood to level up their individual skills. I agree FlashBacks are a drag (both in the manga and the anime), and, Sasuke's a real pain I'd like to bury in the mud, but there's just so many "miracle" level ups in Bleach sidekicks that make me go "woah... how'd that happen again?". Anyway, character wise, maybe it's simply a case of liking and sympathizing more with "Naruto" more than "Ichigo".

I'm enjoying Naruto (anything with Fox in it is good as far as I'm concerned) but...the way the fight drags on and on and on and ON...is starting to bug me. Bleach isn't doing that (or at least...it hasn't started to yet) and I think the characters are a bit more interesting. *shrug* So it's Bleach for me ^_^

I go with Naruto. don't get me wrong, i love bleach (it's number 2 on my manga list), but even with it's endless flashbacks, naruto still has a certain charm. Bleach hasn't had very many story arcs, which I like it that way because it's deveolped well. Naruto also has a million times more characters and i like how there's time spent on each character, via flashback or whatnot. maybe when bleach has another few volumes under it's belt, and animated action, i might have a change of heart, but i'm still a deep rooted ninja.

I would have to say I am at equal with both manga. (I voted Bleach though since I sorta own the forum and that's what I should do. ;) ).

But to my point. We really cant quite compare the 2 manga together. First off, Naruto has almost 100 more chapters released, we are more experienced with it as well as they have had more time to release several story arcs and new characters and plot ideas etc.

Bleach on the other side, has not had as many story arcs and not near as many chapters.

The people making Naruto have had to use many more of their ideas to keep the manga going, as for Bleach, ideas are currently still fresh. But possibly in further chapters, there may be BUTTLONG flashbacks, we do not know yet.

But I think if you compare Bleach 1-132 to Naruto 1-132, they are quite even, if not, Naruto may be somewhat ahead IMO. ;)

I've gotten so bored with this fight that + flashback sequence that I think i totaly forgot about awesome charecters like Gara? and Rock Lee?. Um... did you notice how in the beginning I noted that many of the people herre are from NT(Naruto Talk)? Bleach and Naruto are two of the most popular mangas out there, I thinks it's a very fair question to ask which people prefer.

actually, i dont think bleach is all that original in the beginning volumes...it starts off a lot like yu yu hakusho and ichigo's shinigami uniform looks a lot like inuyasha's clothes and ichigo's first sword and tessaiga look almost identical...but u can make the case that alot of animes are similar to each other

It was a very hard choice but I think that Bleach is better. I don't really understand how Naruto is going to end in all this since there doesn't seem to be a certain path that leads to the end or rather the seeming end. One can understand the path that Bleach is taking but Naruto has a certain number of paths such that it is difficult to say where the story is going. I'm sorry if I offend the Naruto fans (or if what I have posted was already posted since I haven't read all of the posts) but I really think that that is the case.

For me naruto , one piece , bleach ,dragon ball , hunter x hunter are shonen so they are the same type , and focus on the same age ,the history are always foused on a kid who make some friends and became stronger each arc !

And I don't think bleach is more mature than one piece , netheir of them for me are realy mature ,both of then wants to ge the attention of the kids .

I'm sorry, but if you are calling the current HxH creative, there is something wrong here, right now, Nartuo is more Creative than HxH, HxH's current arc is crap, I mean come on, ants?

The most recent arc is not up to par with the rest of the manga. The main reason is because the manga-ka has been sick lately. I think that the arc might prove to be interesting as soon as the manga-ka gets his act together.

Still, it's undeniable that Greed Island, Hunter Test, and Ryodan arc were all very interesting and edge-of-your-seat excitement. HXH's unique introduction gave the manga a free spirit kind of feel. It isn't everyday that you see the main character wield a fishing rod. The test itself was out of this world and impossible, but it was entertaining. Hunter X Hunter is, at least in my opinion, the most entertaining Shounen manga to date. With that entertainment comes a flash of character intrigue, a wicked and unpredictable plot, and a lot of cleverness (counterfeiting, cards, auctions, etc., the manga-ka really knows his stuff).

Naruto, on the other hand, is like a renewed DBZ. The characters seem "good" but their drama doesn't work, the drag is pretty bad, and the "fun" quickly runs dry. The manga doesn't suffer as much as the anime, though.

Don't get angry because I'm "bashing" Naruto, it's my opinion. :)

Well, not in my opinion. How I see it, after the Haku arc, the thing began to drag. It should take so long to take a portion of the test (the one vs one fighting). Sorry, I don't remember where the specific chapters for the events are, since I read it almost a year ago, so pardon me if I'm wrong about the length of a fight/arc, etc. HXH wasn't as bad. The test itself was long, but, there were many portions to it. Instead of portraying every single fight during the 1 on 1 "Test Finals" like Naruto would do, HXH just clicked and got to the point and what was important for the characters/plot.

I don't know how you can say that HXH is a DBZ clone because Naruto is like DBZ (which it is). Sure, HXH has some similarities to DBZ, but it isn't as bad as Naruto. HXH at times drag and now recently with the new arc, the power is getting close to some SSJ crap. Really, you never know since this arc is just beginning. HXH is creative. The ways the powers are used, the techniques, etc. are very original. That's not to say that Naruto is not creative, too. In the end, whether it is "creative", "interesting", or "entertaining" is up to each person to decide for themselves because everyone has their own opinions and preferences.

(let's avoid making this too HXH-ish, and stick to the topic ;) )

Goku is waaaaaay differnt form Naruto, Goku is the most powerful fighter and he gained his abilities though his own power, Naruto is trying to get acknowleged and at the same time, also the ant arc so far is a bit more than "a couple" chapters, and it's building into something that will definitely go on for a while.

Does it really matter? Naruto been released for years now and bleach a little behind. The popularity of that series shows its signs every where, all of us probally have an account at a NARUTO forum some where out there. virtually every shounen that has some elemnt of fantasy(or even some sci-fi ones) has spirit power so thats not whats unique about and its kinda obvious. WHats unique is the perspective and the take on shingami as a kinda police force as opposed to like in deathnote where they just kill peopl etc.

Um... did you notice how in the beginning I noted that many of the people herre are from NT(Naruto Talk)? Bleach and Naruto are two of the most popular mangas out there, I thinks it's a very fair question to ask which people prefer.

And that's a problem? Coming to a Bleach Forum somehow lessens your ability to discriminate between which you like better? It's all opinion anyway and useless for anything other than discussion of the merits of each series.

That being said, it's all about Bleach. I mean I've read Naruto and I enjoy it, but I love Bleach so much that I will trudge through the Japanese to know what is going on. It takes a lot of effort on my part to read in Japanese, so that's quite a commitment for me. And I don't know if I could tell you why...something caught me from pg.1 and made me fall in love with the series. It's brilliant!

But then why do we fall in love with any of the series we read? I adore Inuyasha, but that is because Rumiko Takahashi has apparently cast some spell on me that makes me love every series she does. Shaman King rocks my world...because of Anna. Yeah, I read for one character. So, it's all pretty arbitrary...

Whether I like Bleach or Naruto more kinda depends... while Bleach is all around fast-paced and interesting, Naruto either has really bad parts are really really kickass awesome parts... but in the long term I have to go with Naruto because Bleach hasn't made me cry yet XD. I guess the amount of emotion in Naruto chapter 233 hasn't really been expressed that well yet in Bleach. Even though chapters 150 & 151 were really good.

Plus it's much easier to remember the Naruto character's names. We have Uchiha Sasuke, Yamanaka Ino, Gaara.. easy to remember. But Kusajishi Yachiru? Hitsugaya Toushirou? Kyouraku Shunsui?? I only remember Ichigo's team and about 4 or 5 shinigami names ><" But that may be just me.

Definetely Bleach. This last arc has ruined Naruto for me. I am just completely sick of the Sasuke mission.

Besides, Bleach has more depth to it, I believe. The stories seem more thought out than anything and just about everything Kubo includes has a distinct purpose to it. Even the characters you're supposed to hate are more interesting. Gin and Byakuya are much more interesting characters than Sasuke (yes, I'm sure you'r e supposed to hate him by now) and Orochimaru. And I like Bleaches art much more than Naruto's.

I'll continue reading/watching naruto... but only because of the fact that i've followed the series since the beginning. Naruto was once my favorite anime. I loved it. I swear I almost cried after the bridge scene.

Anyways, after a while Naruto tends to throw soooo many characters at you, but it tends to focus only on a few. What I find VERY intersting about Bleach (manga) is that almost every character gets a lot of depth. The enemies have their own chapters here and there and are tired directly into the plot. The action scenes don't take too long to set up either, whereas Naruto will take you on a loooooooong stroll down memory lain RIGHT after the first punch in a fight is thrown. Kinda.. kills the mood... doesnt it?

I still love both of them. I just find that Bleach gets me a lot more excited right now than Naruto does. Bleach gets me vote.

I started watching Naruto when my brothers shoved episode 19 to me and I thought ooohh, kick *** ninjas and all so I started watching it. It was then I started reading the manga and I personally loved the Chuunin Exam and Tsunade Arc...everything else was okay.

So far, post-time skip Naruto is interesting but not interesting enough compare to what Bleach has offered me.

Seriously, after reading Zombie Powder (immediately hooked) I then read Bleach and well...boom! Boom! Boom! I'm totally and completely obsessed. I guess it has to do with my fascination with the whole death and death gods...and what kept me is IchigoxRukia's interaction, which became even more interesting when Ichigo had to go and rescue Rukia and then became even more obsessive when there are a lot of suspicious things going on during the period of Rukia's rescue.

Bleach never fail to amuse me, shock me and or had me in fits of insanity. Seriously, there's no doubt that Bleach has its share of faults and maybe more faults than what Naruto offers but for some reason, it has me; hooked, line and sinker.

I never thought I'd say this but Naruto. I took a few years off from that title because I was just bored to tears of all the villans that came after Gaara and I couldn't take Sakura lame self or that jerk Sauske. The story and characters just bored me.

But as you know, that's all changed with the time jump. I only started reading to see what they'd look like, but the Akatsuki's up there with the Gold Saints and Shingami captains as my fav villans/antagonists, Sakura's making herself useful, Sasuke's gone, it looks like they'll answer alot of old questions and the time jump's reinvigorated my intrests in the characters themselves.

It's like I'm readng it all over again.

Then there's Bleach. Previously my fav manga. While I still love the characters, that's mostly the problem I'm having with it. I've mentioned it before that the humans are my fav characters and I never cared for the shingami caps stealing the spot light for as long as they did. Now they're back and everyones happy. Funny (not really) how everyone was so freaked when they were gone for only like, 7 chapters. Anyway, I'm happy the settings set in school again, since I love the comedy and I'm sure they'll get some development now...I'm just not holding my breath. I don't believe it'll happen anytime soon and I'm really not enjoying Chad and Inoue's Yamcha/Krillin treatment - as someone put it. :D

Do I still like Bleach? Hell yeah, this sin't about that. It's just that it's now moved to the number 2 position (probably three once the Straw hat vs CP9 fights really start) since I really can't find anything to complain about concerning Naruto other than that long fight scene, and even that wasn't so bad since a) Sakura being useful. b) geezers kicking butt and c) those puppet attacks were visually stunning.


But ask me again once Tatsuki does something...anything. :o

yeah, recently thats whats been happening. normally, the anime would follow the manga almost flawlessly, however, they turned out anime eps out faster than they could turn out manga volumes.
I'm not sure about when the anime began to be broadcasted in Japan, but it was much later than the manga. So they thought no problem, we can follow the manga and we'll be fine. They thought wrong and now the anime, if they had not done the fillers, would have far surpassed the manga by now.

bleach is much more fast paced than naruto minus the melodramatic bullshit that naruto has. thank god sasuke isnt there in the anime anymore. atleast now I dont have to hear sakura crying out..SASUKE KUN !!! every god darn second. Sakura alone has made me hate the anime i loved most. Bleach rocks. the storyline, the characters, the action. I am waiting when the new naruto season begins i.e when he grows up and all. until now i just watch naruto for the heck of it, thats it.

Don't get me wrong, I like watching Naruto, and all, but Bleach is just better, IMHO. Naruto has some good characters, a decent plot, and some really great action. However, the problem, I think, lies in that it's very easy for people to dislike at least one of the Rookie 9. I remember back at Narutofan that just about everyone has one character that they hated and their would be wars and shit. Also, Naruto spends too much time focusing on the angsty background of the characters, all of whom react pretty badly.

Bleach, on the other hand, has a great cast of likeable characters. In addition, while most of the characters have an angsty past, they've either gotten over it and use it to motivate themselves, or they are getting over it. Bleach also has a good amount of humour and I like the battles in Bleach more than Naruto.

Eh, I saw up to episode 50. Honestly, I wish very much I stopped 48 episodes sooner. I only kept on going because friends were saying it would get better in five episodes, three, etc. And it never ever did. Past a certaint point I only watched because I had it and because I wanted something to get me ready for bed. I figured Naruto would bore me enough to get me to sleep. It did work for that.

As people have said, the characters are full of annoying angst and emo fests. It gets old quick. Plus the world building was horrible. I just couldn't believe that world existed. It did not present itself well. World building is the key too any good work of sci-fi, or fantasy. Naruto's just failed. Why the hell did they have video tapes, headsets, etc? It just wasn't explained at all. Plus then magically every last child managed to beat the forest exam, and yet NONE, absolutally NONE of the adults do? Common. Seriously. Oh wait. Three did. All working for the evil bad guy.

I would have to say bleach. Like Demonic, naruto just didn't appeal to me all that much. It was okay in the beginning.. after a while it seemed to drag on a bit and thats where I sort of lost interest. Bleach seemed to have more suspense and cliffhangers that just leave you wishing for more. All IMO of course =)

Going for Bleach on this one. Naruto was....is still one of my favorite mangas out there. I was in love with it for a long time but currently I find myself anticipating the new Bleach manga releases than the Naruto ones. Guess that says something XD.

Personally, Bleach is by far and away my favorite Shounen title. But I in general really dislike Shounen. I think Yu Yu Hakusho and Kenshin if you want to count it are the only Shounen I enjoy. Naruto, DBZ, One Piece, and others I can't recall simply either don't appeal to me, or I flat out hate them.

Yet outside of Shounen my anime tastes are fairly broad. Ranging from mecha, to drama, to philisophical to fantasy to sci-fi, etc.

I started watching this out of boredom and now i'm where Naruto goes for a month of training ep 53 i think? Right now, i absolutely love this (not as much as bleach though :p ) The preliminary matches were awesome....the only thing i didn't like is that: He talk TOO much XD, and the fights are like DBZ......too LONG!!! :mad: ...other than that, i luv it especially Gaara's and Rock Lee's fight and Sasuke and Orochimaru first fight....awesome :D

Bleach definitely, the plot is getting better and better. Naruto is disappointing me because the akatsuki arc seems to be endlessly long. They have only managed to finish one member. And they're inventing insane jutsus. And not much development in Naruto himself >__>

Well it's manga, I never watch anime. It's just that they seem to have really strong jutsus that it's crazy....one fight could end with just one ultimate jutsu...seriously

And naruto doesn't seem to be getting much development even after 3 years =\

after the major fight between Sasuke and Naruto its been filler eisodes up the wahoo. I think the fight was between eipsodes 130-133 or someone near there but curent is episode 154 so about 20 or so meaningless eipsodes.

Naruto (the anime itself) has become a joke as of late. Way too many side arcs that just aren't interesting - and now the Konohamaru corps arc? What a joke. Wish they'd stick closer to the manga instead of straying off like this... I enjoyed the first 120 episodes, but it's just terrible now. I refuse to watch until it gets back to the main storyline.

Bleach has been just perfect up to this point.

I'd say Bleach. For one thing, KT actually puts in interesting surprises in it. There's also actually some character development that actually ties in with the story. I see something interesting happening right now.

Naruto? Okay, so we have a school dropout that's noisy and can only do like...2 or 3 jutsu. Sure, there are other interesting people in it like Shikamaru. But Naruto, tbh, is becoming pretty stale lately. I don't see any character development. I don't see anything exciting. I see a kid that's eventually going to learn how to control his inner demon that will eventually make him the next Goku >.>;
If anything, the only thing that has been keeping Naruto alive is the eventual return of Sasuke and Akatsuki.
And maybe Gaara fangirls, because we know they exist =X

Don't get me wrong. I still watch Naruto now and then. I just feel that Kishimoto is really just using the same thing all over again.

I like naruto however I am IN LOVE with bleach.

Two things i don't quite like about naruto are:

1.) Very slow and draggy story plot especially during the fighting and the anime has too many fillers.

2.) Too much of a talk and especially too much of gay talks
