I was just wondering about this because there has been a lot of speculation about this n the media. Its the fact that people are getting so huge. It doesn't make sense to me. I used to be a pretty fat guy as a kid but then I started working out. I solved the problem myself. So why are poeple trating it as some kind of disease. Of course there are medical conditions which make u proned to making u a little heavier but I mean I'm talking about those people who volunatarily supersize that meal or go for the that third serving....can they really be considered as sick people? I choose to be overweight and in the end I choose to solve it. nobody forced me to do anything. I meanits not like we're gonna be talking about the great fat epidemic to our grandchildren will we? So wat is ure guy's take on this?

Babbo doesn't think it's a disease...people need to control themselvs, Babbo is overweight but he doesn't blame it on anyone but himself...

You're right Zalfor-the French eat the same amount (i.e. mass) of food as North Americans, but they eat healthy foods and thus are generally fit.
If you want a conspiracy theory:
You'll find a disagreement between experts on the subject of obesity. Some think it's caused by a lack of education on fatty foods, and general excersize will decrease obesity levels. However, a good portion of these experts claim obesity to be an epidemic. They tend to exaggerate the situation. Also, they often fail to offer natural cures. This is (conspiracy) because they work in league with pharmaceutical companies and diet programs. Both institutions profit greatly from the percieved "disease" of obesity. Countless drugs have been developed to combat obesity, i.e. Prozac, which is for hypertension, a symptom of obesity.
As long as people depend on drugs to make them "healthier," and are not notified of livestyles that eliminate the need for drugs, they remain sources of profit for companies.
In summary, the view that obesity is an episdemic is set up to make money off obese people.
P.S. I'm not crazy, I had to write an essay about this topic for my university English course :p
