Well, she probably loves Yoruichi more in a sororal fashion than anything else. Over the time they spent together, it was easy to see that Soi Fong had finally been given an opportunity to act out all of the feelings repressed in her earlier years in the Special Ops organization and capitalized on it. And it all showed everytime Yoruichi and she hung out, went on missions, etc. At last, Fong must've thought, she could find her femininity and be at ease.

This would all change with Urahara Kisuke's banishment.

For some reason, the 12th Division Captain had been stripped off his title and was sent into exile for some odorous crime. Just after Kisuke's situation had been announced to the rest of Soul Society, Yoruichi disappears from her office at the Special Ops department and is charged with helping the vagrant escape detection from Soul Society authorities. Needless to say Soi Fong was crushed; the one person she ever truly trusted in her entire life... gone, and not only that, but a traitor to everything that Fong had championed: honor, duty, loyalty.

Despite all that's happened in Soul Society, Fong still didn't see how she truly felt about Yoruichi until she was pushed to the brink in a life or death duel. In one brilliant flash of Yoruichi's Shunko, Fong had come to an epiphany about the person whose fist was only mere inches from her face. Yoruichi was the one person that she wanted to become, the only person that held her in mutual respect and true friendship, the person who had abandoned and left her with a cold soldier's sense of duty, and lastly, the person who had returned as a traitor, but ended up as her mind's only true solace and salvation from all those years of empty hatred.
