Some of you in these forums may have been reading fansubbed manga when it was first being shared trough Irc and other psp programs such as dc, kazaa etc.
Then at one point there rose up few sites providing straight http downloads, and nowadays it seems new sites like these are rising up everyday.
In a point of view where being able to provide fansubbed manga to majority of users it is obviously the most effective way, but it has also created a problem. It needs money, for servers, and other things I'm not so familiar with. Being said by the holders of themselves it's a selfpaid thing, but frankly it seems every single site when creating layout first checks out where can they most effectively put the Donation button. Good hearted ppl donate to support site = keep the servers up = easy downloading.
Some of the owners of the sites are pure hearted ppl with no bad intentions, but there are always ppl who when finding a great opportunity scam ppl off.
I think most of you have seen the suspicion made towards Narutofan.com, because no 100% truthful accusations on either side can be showed there's no telling whats the truth there.
Also there are rumors that bleachportal,bleach7,stoptazmo, kyubinetworks and narutocentral have the same ip, I cannot confirm it, but just the rumors give me chills.
Why not? I mean take out a popular manga serie with tens of thousands of fans, buy a cheap server, put a layout (loads of donation buttons) and wait till the money starts pouring, and pay the minimal cost of the server. Free money I would say.
Why do you think only a few manga-groups have put up a site with servers and http downloads of their series? Atleast they edit, translate, possibly color the raw which they might Buy.
They are the ones that do the hard work to get the manga to you fans, these sites just are the middle hands who take money from them.
It's because this thing is from fans to fans, no money transactions for these sites should be made. if by any means for someone then give those that actually put up the effort.

Good hearted ppl donate to support site = keep the servers up = easy downloading.

It takes alot of hard work to make a good layout. Code it, write information, write php scripts for teh site. It takes alot of work you don't know about to run a site. You people always hear the good thigns about running a site but all teh bad stuff are hidden away.
I agree that the translator are the ones doing teh most work. If they wanted to truly help even more peopel they cuold have a site up to download from. We're just trying our best to get the anime to the people. We all have good intentions, we're alll part of the same team :/
They translate and we provide servers, information.
What do you mean they have the same ip? :/
Yes some site like Narutofan are trying everyway possible to make money. Did you see their new ad for premium membership ****? Its like paying for fansubs. However there are sites who are doing their best to provide the fans with as minimal donations needed as possible.
It all comes down to, your choice to donate or not. Who would you like to support more? :/

tell me then, why is it that this new group Manga7 only does bleach for bleach7 website? If it truly is without any intentions of wanting more money and to share bleach manga to as many ppl as possible why dont they let everyone else share their release?
and as for what it means if they all have the same ip is that they are then prob run by the very same group, and every site collects it's own donations. And that is something very much suspicious.

One of the reasons I posted this, and I did it to both here and narutofan forums to get attention, is that if a manga or anime fansub group for the reason of fearing for the websites scamming ppl with the donations want to keep their releases out of the whole business then they should respect their wishes.
Frankly most ppl donate to keep the servers up so they could dl the manga, so eventhough it takes effort to make a website with all info and everything, You dont get much donations just with a site thats full of info. also it wouldnt cost much of anything since you dont need the extra servers.
If you download anime from irc, dc or with bittorrent why cant you do the same for manga?
Of course it's the donators own decision to donate or not, but it doesnt make things any more right.
Isn't it not the whole Idea of fansubbing to reach out as many fans as possible so that they may find out about a good serie for FREE and then buy the DVD's or Manga from Stores and support the anime/manga industry?

Trust me I know the webbys of all those sites you listed. They are in no way shape or form the same people. I have no idea where you heard those lies from :/ They obviously did not know what they were talking about I assure you.
I work for bleachportal so I know who runs the website. Bleach7 is ran by Kon in which I also talk to quite often. NarutoCentral is ran by SasukeNC.
They want credit where its due, :/ Manga7 is mainly ran by the webby of Bleach7. Manga-Rain doesnt allow distribution outside their irc either. This is same only its restricted to their web servers and site title.
Geez, you must be the same guy from StopTazmo trying to go by someone who just 'heard' the rumor. If it's just a rumor, why spread it without any facts.
Here we go: *sigh*
1. All the sites you listed are on the same server which is hosted by Darkfiles.net which I have been with for almost 2 years now.
2. I own Bleach7 and Kyubi Network, KN is now 1 year old and I no longer work much on it, my good friend runs it for me and he makes all the decisions.
3. Manga7 was created for the sole purpose of making Bleach7 an all-around better source for Bleach. So I thought that making the distro Bleach7-only for now was the best choice. (Though many disagree with it, that was my decision).
4. As for the donations crap, we do run a $110/month tab from website hosting, 3 media hosts/mirrors, and prize costs.
Why dont you go and ping a few 100 sites in the anime community. If you find out that a few of them have the same IP address, maybe I own them too. Try out ani-cc.com, they are hosted with us. I'm sure Anomaly would love to find out that I am him too.
The fact is, you have no facts. If you truly only heard this 'rumor' your not helping the situation by spreading/gossiping it. Thanks for any of your concern, but please stop doing this. If you have any other questions, PM me. It's the best way to get the facts straight instead of hoping you can get a little fame by posting on popular forums. Good try though.

Ugh, this is getting way out of hand.
For those that don't know, Joulupukki is part of the Manga-Rain staff. Kon, you wouldn't know this because you are apparently getting banned from #manga-rain to much. ;) Since Joulupukki is part of the Manga-Rain staff, it would certainly raise suspicion when the IP of stoptazmo.com, a known "offender" of Manga-Rain's distribution policy, was the same as popular Bleach fansites, bleach7.com and bleachportal.com/.net. And since both websites, Bleachportal and Bleach7, take donations it could be speculated that the revenue from those two sites paid for a dedicated server with ev1servers.net (ARIN whois: 67.15.82.21 -> IP owned by Ev1servers.net), and several other theories could be devised.
But this is all speculation, and has been proven incorrect by Kon and other sources.

Um, as for donations, a webmaster should establish a reliable source of income (job, allowance from parents, etc...) instead of basing a website or a network of websites on a unpredicable source of income (donations). No, I am not picking solely on Bleach7.com, but another fansite that apparently has 5+ dedicated servers ran by donations.
To conclude this post,
Tammy, it is a lot of work to put a fansite together; however, all webmasters should be aware of the obstacles and should never expect a monetary contribution. I believe contributers should donate to a more worthy cause, such as National Relief Programs, instead of fansites, but as you say, it's their choice. :P
Kon, as a webmaster, you should learn to handle accusation with a professional demeanor because the image you portray in these rare occassions will stay with you longer than other type of event. If you catch my drift. It is human nature to speculate when there is a lack of facts... Sadly, even when facts are available, some continue to speculate in order to make something seem true to satisfy personal motives.
