I just started a telemarketing job for some mortgage loan co. and i have to read from a script. Its the easiest job to get but a pain in the neck to get someone to actually help you to complete the dumb survey so i can get paid. I don't feel comfortable reading from the script which is probably why i can't get a lot of surveys filled out.Could anyone help me out and tell me what a telemarketer would have to say to convince you or to make you to just help that telemarketer to fill out a short 20 sec 8-10 simple questions.

I hope this is not the only reason you join. Hm, that is hard, since i always hang up, well tell them to get me off there list then hang up. Up make it sound important so they won't hang up right away.

I can tell you right now...Pay me! Then I'll answer your survey. *Nodnod*
When telemarketers call, though, I usually offer them the ball from my mouse for five dollars, so they know how I feel.

If soemone young answers, just try to ask their help , with casual talking like you would do with your friends...
Also , if you have a nice voice that helps a lot, i usually answer some surverys, and listen to commercials just to hear a pretty a voice.

My friend used to be a telemarketer and got fired for being to friendly with the customers. So I'd be careful with that route.

Sorry, not interested.
As crave said, I hope you didn't just join just to post this. Anyway - just be honest and friendly and make sure they know from the get go that you're not selling anything and that it's just a quick 10 question completely optional survey that you've been hired to go ask people. Honesty sells.

I've a part-time job that does telephone surveys in Singapore. I do meet rude people and stuff, but once they're willing to listen to WHAT the survey is for, they're a little more receptive.
Also, the surveys I call for does not ask for any personal details. Just satisfaction with some company's existing services.
Mortage industry surveys... they tend to ask for alot of personal information?
