Yo, kulong here and here is another bill
Whereas, many naturalized citizens have been shown to be as loyal or even more loyal to the United States than
many natural born citizens, and
Whereas, at the current time, naturalized American citizens are denied the right to run for president even if they
have lived the vast majority of their lives in the United States, and
Whereas, in the past many naturalized American citizens have provided the government of the United
States with exemplary leadership, and
Whereas, naturalized American citizens retain all other rights and responsibilities as natural born citizens,
BE IT HERE RESOLVED that this Student Congress supports an amendment to the United States Constitution
to allow naturalized citizens to become president of the United States.
And this time the poll will not be mess up =P

When you say "Naturalized", what do you mean? Do you mean people that came to the US when they were little? Kinda lost. Hehe, I'm kinda slow when it comes to these things.

This bill is mainly say ppl who wasn't born in united state, have a chance to become president or any position, where u must be born in america to obtain certain government job.
For ex. if calf. governer run for president he will be allow to run as a candiate. (bah bad spelling)

If we're gonna do that, then we should get rid of the age restriction. I know a lot of 25 year olds with idealism and plans that would make excellent presidents.

I agree with epic on this one...no thanks. I can't see an entire country being run by someone who's only in their mid 20's. Besides, getting rid of an age restriction would mean that an 18 (young adult) year old kid could run for presidency and um...well, no. Although, I will say that I also know of someone who's young and would fair well as a candidate.
EDIT: You have my vote Soul Berry!

Why not? If a 20 year old runs, and gets chosen by the people, then he has an obligation to serve.
Just because you make something possible that doesn't mean that there will be an epidemic of it.

I can't argue with you about the people voting. However, I don't see america's population voting for such a young candidate. It's almost like a woman running for office, it hasn't been done successfully before, so no one really knows what the outcome may be. It's more of an uncertainty issue than anything, imo.

There have been women who have run for President before. What there hasn't been, are women representing the major parties (Dems, Reps, etc.) but there have been representatives for the smaller, more obscure parties.
